Coaches

Samantha grew up in Howard County, Maryland and graduated from Centennial High School in 2016, where she also played club lacrosse with M&D Red. She went on to attend Coastal Carolina University from 2016–2021, playing Division I lacrosse as an attacker. During her time at Coastal, she totaled 94 goals, 80 assists, and 174 points, ranking top-10 all-time in the program for goals, assists, and points. She earned bachelor’s degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies and Psychology. After college, Samantha started coaching with HOCO Lacrosse in 2021 and has been the head coach of the 2027 girls team ever since, now heading into their final season together. Outside of lacrosse, she works as a school counselor in Howard County and earned her master’s degree in School Counseling from McDaniel College in 2023.

Coach Helfman is from Harford County, MD where she grew up playing soccer and lacrosse. Angela attended the University of Maryland and played Maryland Club Lacrosse all 4 years. She has enjoyed coaching and cheering for her daughters and their friends in the Howard County Lacrosse program and the HCLP All Star teams for the past 5 years. Before her girls were born she coached for the HCLP Cobra program. Angela lives in Ellicott City with her husband Jon, daughters Andie and Emma, and works as a freelance writer.

We are so excited to welcome Emily D’Orsaneo to our HoCo Girls coaching family as our new Assistant Coach of HoCo 2027 Black. Emily grew up on the Eastern Shore of MD and started playing lacrosse when she was 7 years old. Emily played 4 years of varsity at Queen Anne’s County High School where she served as captain her senior year. She received 3x 1st team all conference honors during her time in high school. Emily then continued her lacrosse career at Coastal Carolina and played there for 5 years. During that time as a defender, she made the ASUN all-freshmen team in 2017, ASUN second team all-conference in 2018, ASUN 1st team all conference 2019, ASUN Preseason All-Conference in 2020, SoCon 1st team all-conference 2021, and SoCon All-Tournament team in 2021. She holds 4 all time records including most ground balls, caused turnovers, games played, and games started.

Emily continued her love for the sport as a coach and was an assistant coach at The College of the Holy Cross for the 2021-2022 season. She decided to go back to school and attended Salisbury University for their nursing program while continuing her coaching career as a Head Coach with M&D Shore 2029 black for 2022-2023. She recently graduated in December of 2023 and is currently working as a nurse in Johns Hopkins Pediatric Emergency Room.

Buzz played High School Lacrosse in Howard County, MD. He went on to play Division 1 Lacrosse at Radford University. And, after college, Buzz continues to play men’s league club lacrosse with Glyndon, Smart Link, Blarneys, Mr Boh and Koopers lacrosse clubs. Buzz has coached both girls and boys recreational and club lacrosse in Howard County for over 15 years. Buzz coached the Zingos Boys 2023 Black Team from 5th grade through their final season. He assisted with the recruitment of 20 players to play College Lacrosse at D1, D2 and D3 programs including Towson, Mount St Mary’s, Queens College, Lynchburg, and Franklin and Marshall. Buzz is the current Assistant Coach for the boys’ varsity lacrosse program at Centennial High School in Howard County. Buzz’s kids are former and current members of the boys’ and girls’ lacrosse programs at Glenelg High School with his eldest 2 kids now playing in college as well. Buzz is married to his high school sweetheart of 28 years. He enjoys racing Ironman and other endurance races including 4 Ironman 140.6 finishes along with the London, Chicago and Marine Corp Marathons multiple times. Buzz lives in Glenelg with his wife Joanne and their 3 kids, Alex, Michael and Josie.

Lily is a former Division I student-athlete who graduated from Glenelg High School in 2022 before continuing her lacrosse career at Winthrop University. As a defender for the Eagles, she served as a team captain and earned Big South Play of the Week honors as well as Big South All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition.

Lily graduated from Winthrop University in the spring of 2026 with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and plans to continue her education by attending nursing school. In addition to joining our coaching staff, she currently coaches the HoCo 2028 team, where she enjoys helping young athletes develop their skills, confidence, and lacrosse IQ.

Lily is passionate about creating a positive and competitive environment that encourages athletes to work hard, grow as teammates and leaders, and develop a lifelong love for the game.

Colleen grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Downingtown HS where she played field hockey, basketball and lacrosse. She was a 1st team All-Chesmont selection, and selected to the Pennsylvania Senior All-Star game for lacrosse. After graduating she earned a scholarship to play lacrosse for the University of Massachusetts. In her senior year at UMass, she helped her team win the Atlantic 10 Conference. Her team went on to win the Atlantic 10 Championship. During that season she was a part of a nationally ranked defensive unit for UMass. She stayed on to be an Assistant Coach for the 2001 UMass lacrosse season. Colleen has coached all levels of lacrosse including collegiate, high school and youth. For the past 6 years she has coached both youth soccer and lacrosse through Catonsville Rec and Parks. Off the field, Colleen works as an activewear and golf apparel designer. She lives in Catonsville with her husband Matt and their 3 children.

Rachel Montgomery graduated from Glenelg High School in 2019 where she was a multi-sport athlete. A member of the varsity soccer team, she also lettered in lacrosse while winning a 2A State Championship with the Gladiators, respectively. Rachel played club lacrosse for Rebels Lacrosse Club. She went on to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) where she graduated Cum Laude in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in Financial Economics and a minor in Law.

Rachel currently resides in Baltimore and works in financial consulting.

Julie is from Carroll County, Maryland and played lacrosse her entire life. She played for M&D lacrosse club, Garrison Forest School, and the University of Maryland Women’s lacrosse team. In addition to her playing career, Julie has been coaching club lacrosse since she was 15 years old. She has high school coaching experience as well, coaching at Glenelg Country School and Maryvale Preparatory School. Julie joins the HoCo 2030 Black coaching staff after coaching HoCo 2025 Black through their final season.

Coach Danielle is a distinguished multi-sport athlete and coach with extensive experience in soccer, lacrosse, and basketball, and a proven record of building high-performing teams at the high school, club, and collegiate levels. A standout three-sport athlete at South Carroll High School, Danielle excelled in soccer and lacrosse as a four-year varsity player in both sports, earning First Team All-County, First Team All-Conference, and All-State honors, while also competing in club soccer and club lacrosse. Danielle continued her athletic career at Frostburg State University, where she played two years of collegiate soccer—earning All-Conference recognition both seasons—and two years of collegiate lacrosse before transferring to Towson University to compete in an additional two years of collegiate soccer. This extensive playing background provided a deep understanding of high-level competition and significantly shaped their development as a coach.

Danielle began her coaching career at Maryvale Preparatory School as a JV lacrosse coach while assisting with the varsity program, later serving as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Howard Community College, where she helped guide the team to the NJCAA National Tournament. She went on to become the Head Varsity Soccer and Lacrosse Coach at Paint Branch High School before taking on multiple roles at Liberty High School, where she currently serves as the Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach. At Liberty, Danielle has earned Coach of the Year honors and led the program to a State Championship, while also contributing as an assistant lacrosse coach and helping develop top talent including Grace Griffin and other collegiate-bound players. Additionally, Danielle is an assistant lacrosse coach at South Carroll High School, where they have been part of two State Championship teams and continue to coach with the program.

Beyond the scholastic level, Danielle has extensive club coaching experience, serving as the head coach for Freedom Xplosions Soccer Club, an assistant coach for club basketball, and an assistant coach for the Heros 2024W lacrosse team. Known for exceptional player development, strong tactical understanding, and multi-sport coaching versatility, Danielle consistently builds disciplined, competitive, and championship-caliber programs. Her background as a successful multi-sport collegiate athlete influences a coaching philosophy rooted in growth, team culture, and high-performance standards.

Madison brings a strong multi-sport background and standout lacrosse experience to the coaching staff. A 2024 graduate of Century High School, Madison competed in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse, earning varsity lacrosse honors for all four years and contributing to a state championship title. Madison, also contributed to a state title for soccer. A natural leader, she served as team captain in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse, and was recognized as Second Team All-Conference in both soccer and lacrosse.

At the club level, Madison played for Heros 2024W (lacrosse), Freedom Xplosions (soccer), and Freedom (basketball), gaining high-level experience across multiple competitive programs.

Continuing her athletic career at Robert Morris University, she made an immediate impact as a freshman, earning a spot on the All-Freshman Team along with earning Defender of the Week honors.

Her coaching experience includes working with South Carroll Rec, Heros Lacrosse Camps, and serving as a trainer for high school girls lacrosse in Pittsburgh, where she works on all lacrosse skills, game IQ development, and confidence-building for young athletes.

Madison brings energy, technical knowledge, and a passion for developing the next generation of players.

Stephanie is a Glenelg High School graduate where she played soccer, basketball and lacrosse. During her high school career, she earned 11 varsity letters and 3 State Titles. Stephanie continued her lacrosse career at Towson University and played all 4 years as a midfielder. In 2004, she served as team captain during her senior year. Stephanie was awarded the Student Athlete Award in 2003 and 2004. She was named All CAA Second Team in 2004 as well as Towson University’s 2004 Strength and Conditioning Female Athlete of the Year. Stephanie continues to hold an NCAA record as tied at second for the fastest goal at the start of the game.

She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. In the spring of 2005, Stephanie served as an assistant coach for Glenelg Girl’s Varsity Lacrosse Team, where the school won its first ever Girl’s Lacrosse State Title. She returned to Towson University to earn her master’s degree in 2007. For the past 18 years, Stephanie has worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist on the Stroke Unit at The University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute.

Stephanie currently resides in Mt Airy with her husband Evan and children, Caroline and Charlie. She has remained involved in youth sports, coaching both basketball and lacrosse. In Spring 2025, she served as the Head Coach for the Middle School Girl’s South Carroll Youth Lacrosse team.

Jordyn Sabourin serves as a Co-Head Coach for the HoCo 2031 Black team. She grew up in Catonsville, Maryland and attended Notre Dame Preparatory School for high school, where she competed in basketball, soccer and lacrosse all four years. She also played club lacrosse for M&D Black 2018, where she had the opportunity to play alongside fellow 2031 coach Malaina.

Jordyn went on to attend Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., graduating in 2022. She was a 4-year member of the women’s lacrosse team, playing primarily attack and taking the draw. While balancing lacrosse and academics, she went on to graduate with a bachelor’s in Psychology. Internationally, Jordyn holds dual citizenship which allowed her to represent Canada in the U19 World Cup in Peterborough, Ontario. She competed for Team Canada in 2019 and earned a silver medal.

Currently, she lives in Baltimore and is pursuing a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography at Johns Hopkins University. She is expected to graduate in December of 2026 where she will go on to work in pediatric ultrasound. Jordyn is passionate about giving back to the sport and mentoring young confident female athletes in helping them develop strong fundamentals and a love for the sport.

Minjee Yi serves as a co-head coach for The HoCo 2031 Black Team. She is a Wilde Lake High School graduate where she played both Volleyball and Lacrosse. She was a 4 year Varsity Letter Winner and Team Captain. Throughout her middle and high school careers she played for HoCo and then Coppermine Lacrosse.

Minjee then continued her lacrosse career in college where she played Division 1 lacrosse at Longwood University located in FarmVille, Virginia. During her time there, she played primarily as a defender and was named on the Big South Academic Team.

Currently, she lives in Baltimore, MD where she is attending nursing school at The University of Maryland, Baltimore with aspirations to pursue pediatric nursing. Minjee is passionate about helping young athletes build strong foundational ideals of perseverance and work ethic. At the same time, she hopes to build a fun welcoming environment for girls to grow on and off the field.

Malaina Dunn serves as a Co-Head Coach for the HoCo 2031 Black team. She attended Mount de Sales Academy, where she was a multi-sport athlete, playing varsity lacrosse for all four years and competing in basketball as well. She also played club lacrosse for M&D Black 2018, where she had the opportunity to play alongside fellow 2031 coach Jordyn.

She continued her lacrosse career at the University of Delaware from 2018–2022, where she played defense. She later earned her Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland School of Nursing in 2025. Prior to becoming a head coach, she assisted with Hero’s Lacrosse teams and volunteered with HoCo 2031 Black, gaining experience developing young athletes at the club level.

She currently lives in Ellicott City and works as a Labor and Delivery nurse in Baltimore. Malaina is passionate about helping players grow not only into strong lacrosse athletes, but also into confident, resilient young women who support and uplift one another on and off the field.

Chris Terry served as the JV Lacrosse Coach at The Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington,
Maryland for three seasons from 2022–2024 before stepping away from the role. During his
tenure, he focused on player development, fundamentals, and building a strong foundation for
the program.

Coach Terry has been actively involved in lacrosse at the recreational, club, and high school
levels throughout Montgomery County for the past thirteen years. In addition to his work in
lacrosse, he has dedicated nineteen years to officiating and coaching a variety of youth and adult
sports, including basketball, soccer, and football.
A lifelong Montgomery County resident, Coach Terry grew up in Rockville and attended
Richard Montgomery High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete competing in both
baseball and football.

Beyond athletics, Coach Terry has worked in the facilities department at Montgomery College
for the past nineteen years. He resides in Rockville with his wife, Kelley, and their daughter,
Bailey who played goalie for HOCO 2025 Black.

Megan is a dedicated and accomplished former Division I athlete with a strong background in lacrosse. A 2013 graduate of Liberty High School, she was a two-sport athlete (soccer & lacrosse). During her senior year, she made a significant impact on the lacrosse field, finishing the season with 61 points—49 goals and 12 assists. Her performance earned her the title of Most Valuable Player for Liberty’s lacrosse team. She was also named to the First Team All-Conference and All-County, and was selected for the prestigious Carroll County All-Star Team. Megan went on to play Division I lacrosse at Old Dominion University, where she made a lasting mark in the program’s history. She finished her collegiate career 2nd in career assists (67) and tied for 10th in career goals (115). She graduated in 2017 with a major in Marketing and a minor in Business Analytics. Since graduation, she has continued her involvement in the sport she loves by mentoring and developing young athletes. Megan is entering her third year as the JV girls' lacrosse co-head coach at Liberty High School. In addition to coaching, she serves as a Recruiting Coordinator for Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

Haley is a 2013 graduate from Liberty high school where she was a three sport athlete. During her senior year she helped lead the team to a successful season as a captain and was selected to play in the Carroll County All Star game.

She went on to play Division II lacrosse at Shepherd University. While there she earned all freshman honors making the Division II Independent all freshman team. She went on to make the 2016 and 2017 Mountain East first team all conference and all tournament teams. Haley was a 2 time captain leading her team to conference championships in 2015 and 2016. She ended her senior year leading the team in goals and points.

After college she continued her education at Shenandoah University earning her Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2017. Haley now works at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD. In addition is currently coaching at Liberty High School just finishing her second season.

A native of the New York lacrosse hotbed of Somers, Reid Palmieri has spent his life dedicated to the sport. A former All-Section, All-League goalie and Team MVP for Somers High School, Reid attended Ithaca College, where he played Goalie and changed position to LSM and led the team as a senior captain. He currently plays in the Maryland Lacrosse League (MDLL Masters) on Blarney Lacrosse.

Now based in Howard County, Reid is deeply committed to developing the next generation of players. He balances a professional career at AWS with extensive coaching roles for both boys and girls within the HCLax and HOCO organizations. Reid also serves on the HCLax Board, helping shape the future of the sport he loves. For Reid, lacrosse is a family affair—he and his three children are all active members of the Howard County lacrosse community.

Sean McElroy is a graduate of Oakland Mills High School where he was a three sport athlete. He was a four year varsity letterman in lacrosse and was a two year All County player. He led the county his senior year in goals scored and went on to play lacrosse in college at Wingate University. Sean has spent the past four years coaching lacrosse in the Howard County area and spent the 2025 season as Assistant Coach for the Catonsville Lacrosse Club, Ville 2032 team. Sean and his wife reside in Columbia, MD with their two children.

Sophia has over 10 years of lacrosse experience, competing at both the club and collegiate levels. I played club lacrosse for MC Elite and Rebels, was a four-year varsity player in high school, and earned First Team All-County honors during both my junior and senior seasons. I continued my playing career at IUP, where I competed at the collegiate level. My coaching experience includes serving as the Head Coach for Bethesda Lacrosse and as an Assistant Coach for Rebels Lacrosse. I am passionate about helping athletes develop their skills, build confidence, and grow both on and off the field.

Kelly is a graduate of Liberty HS in Carroll County where she was a three-sport athlete. She comes with an unmatched love for youth sports and a team first mentality. She was a two year All County player, All-CMC, All-State, and Baltimore Sun Player of the week at Liberty. Under the guidance of her Highschool Coach, Kelly joined the UMBC Retrievers in the fall of 2002 where she played both soccer and lacrosse.

Kelly was named UMBC's Outstanding Female Athlete in 2006 and inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014.

Kelly graduated with a BA in Psychology, Minor is Sociology, and Certificate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology (2006) and went on to earn her MBA from UMUC in 2009.

Kelly lives in Carroll County with her 3 children and husband and spends much of her time on the sideline of a sports field both coaching soccer and lacrosse and spectating many other sports. She has found a lot of joy watching her oldest go through the program at Liberty Highschool like she once did.

2034 Black Assistant Coach

Jennifer Smith played competitively for eight years with the M&D 2010 Black program before continuing her lacrosse career at University of Maryland, Baltimore County after graduating from Liberty High School. Her years as both a club and collegiate athlete helped shape her passion for the game and her love for developing young players.

With more than 10 years of coaching experience, Jennifer is passionate about creating a positive and competitive environment where athletes can grow their confidence, strengthen their skills, and build a true love for the sport. She currently lives in Baltimore County with her husband and three children and works at Johns Hopkins University as a Senior Financial Administrator. Jennifer is excited to continue sharing her knowledge of the game and helping players succeed both on and off the field.

Becky is a graduate of Liberty HS where she was a three-sport athlete. She was Carroll County Athlete of the Year, High School All-American, All-Metro, All-County, and Liberty High School Female Athlete of the Year, and is a member of the Liberty High School and Carroll County Hall of Fames. She continued her lacrosse career at Towson University where she became Towson’s most decorated lacrosse player of all-time, while majoring in physical education. She was the Colonial Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year and the Tigers’ Female Rookie Athlete of the Year in 2003. She was honored as the 2005 and 2006 CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women’s lacrosse. She was named 1st team All-CAA in 2004 and 2005 and 2nd team in 2003 and 2006. She was the 2005 Doc Minnegan Scholarship Award recipient, IWLCA All-American, Inside Lacrosse All-American, Towson’s Senior Female Athlete of the Year in 2006, and the TAF Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2006. In 2010, Becky was named to the CAA’s prestigious Women’s Lacrosse 25th Anniversary Team. She is also a member of the Towson University Hall of Fame and Greater Baltimore Chapter of US Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Becky is entering her 16th season at Century High School and the 13th as Head Coach. The lacrosse program has won 9 State Titles, 4 during her tenure as a head coach (2012, 2015, 2017, 2022) and 2 as an assistant (2009, 2010). She has received many coaching honors including VSN Lacrosse Coach of the Year, All-Metro Lacrosse and Volleyball Coach of the Year, US Lacrosse Coach of the Year, NFHS Lacrosse Coach of the Year, and Carroll County Lacrosse Coach of the Year. Becky has a son and daughter and coaches them in soccer and lacrosse.

Britt is a graduate of South Carroll High School where she was a three-sport athlete. She played field hockey, basketball and lacrosse! She continued her lacrosse career at Towson University and played midfield there from 2005-2009! Two-time co-captain who played in all 70 games of her college career making 69 starts. Earned second team ALL CAA Junior and Senior year. Helped her team win back to back CAA championships. Named Towson's Scholar Athlete of the Year as a senior Nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year award. Majoring in exercising science and continued her education at Johns Hopkins University where she got a Bachelor degree in Nursing! She worked as an L&D nurse and lactation specialist at Johns Hopkins Hospital for 11 years. Currently she is a SAHM with an online fitness business and running around her 3 kids to and from sports! She resides in Winfield with her husband Zach and 3 kids.

2034 Black Assistant Coach

Nick brings a lifelong passion for lacrosse and a deep connection to Howard County's lacrosse community. A native of the area, Nick grew up playing the game locally and went on to play goalie at Mount St. Joseph High School. He began his coaching career in 2007, working with youth players and developing a reputation for teaching fundamentals and inspiring confidence in young athletes.
As a coach with HOCO Lacrosse, Nick led his boys’ team to an undefeated regular season in 2024. In addition to coaching the boys, he also serves as a goalie coach for the HOCO 2034 girls program, helping athletes sharpen their skills and improve their performance in the crease.

Nick lives in Sykesville, Maryland with his wife Melissa and their three children. His commitment to sport and to the development of young athletes makes him a valued member of the HOCO coaching staff.

Stefan Chellis is a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph in Baltimore City where he was a three-sport athlete. He went on to West Virginia University then National Defense University, Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy where he hosted lacrosse clinics to teach deployed U.S. Military Services members and their families the game of lacrosse.

He was Head Coach of a Catonsville area boys lacrosse team before moving to Howard County. He has been a Howard County Head Lacrosse Coach for the last 5 years coaching both boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams. His teams appeared in four straight Championship games winning twice in 2022 and 2024. He was named Howard County Recreation and Parks Lacrosse Coach of the Year in 2023.He is married to wife Amanda, he has three children Maxwell, Violet, and Scarlett. Maxwell (Boys 2030) and Scarlett (Girls 2034) both play lacrosse for HoCo.

Kim is a graduate of Long Reach High School. She started playing lacrosse in 10th grade and quickly fell in love with the sport. She went on to establish a team at Howard Community College in 2006 which allowed her younger sisters to play at the collegiate level as well. Kim graduated from Towson University, and later from McDaniel College.

Once Kim settled into her career at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), she began her coaching career at Wheaton High School. She connected with the girls, many first-generation Americans, playing lacrosse for the first time. She coached 3 seasons there, before moving back to Howard County to coach at Wilde Lake High School. Kim has transitioned from high school to youth coaching and began coaching for HoCo in the Spring of 2025. She coached the Devo team, a role that perfectly aligned with her passion for introducing girls to the sport and inspiring them to develop the same love for the game that she has. Kim continues to play the sport herself in adult leagues and has also started officiating youth Field Hockey games for Howard County. Kim has 3 kids- Niko, Ruby, and Camila.

Chrissy is a graduate of Mt. Hebron High School. She went on to play lacrosse at Boston University where she was a 3 time All-American, 3-time Player of the year for America East, America East Rookie of the year. She was inducted into the BU hall of fame in 2012.

After college Chrissy went on to coach at the newly D1 program George Washington University. She was the assistant for 3 years and promoted to Head Coach. She was awarded Coach of the Year twice for Atlantic 10 during her tenure as Head Coach at GW.

Chrissy left GW to start a family while still volunteering to coach and giving lacrosse lessons. She helped coach at her alma alter Mount Hebron and also at HoCo before becoming the director of HoCo Girls lacrosse club. She stepped down as director in 2023 to pursue coaching at the High School level. Chrissy is going into her 2nd year as Head Coach at Glenelg Country School. She is also the Head Coach of HoCo 2035 Black team where she coaches her daughter Remy.

Chrissy is married to Hunter Adair and they have three kids, Greyson, Ramsey and Remy.

Kelsey went to River Hill High School. Kelsey was a three sport athlete: soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. Kelsey did not start playing lacrosse until high school. She played varsity soccer 3 years, varsity basketball 4 years, and varsity lacrosse 4 years. The 2006 soccer team won the county, regional, and 3A state chamionship, with a 20-0 record. Kelsey was All County second team Baltimore sun and MVP for her team this season. Kelsey was voted Howard County Coaches women’s soccer second team 2005 and Howard County coaches women’s soccer first team 2006. Kelsey’s 2005-06 basketball team also won the county, regional, and 3A state championship, with a 28-0 record. Kelsey was second team all county Baltimore sun. Kelsey was female athlete of year 2007 at River Hill, USMC distinguished athlete 2007, and later inducted into the River Hill High School hall of fame in 2014.

Kelsey went on to play one year of basketball at Virginia Wesleyan and then returned to Howard Community College to do the nursing program. While at HCC Kelsey played Soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. For soccer Kelsey was DIII All-tournament team women’s soccer 2010, All Maryland JUCO 1st team women’s soccer 2010, NJCAA All American 1st team women’s soccer 2010, and NSCAA All American women’s soccer 2010. For lacrosse Kelsey was All Maryland JUCO 1st team women’s lacrosse 2009 and 2010, and NJCAA All American 1st team women’s lacrosse 2009 and 2010. Kelsey was athlete of the year 2010 at HCC.

Kelsey works as a nurse and has two children that are also multi-sport athletes. She has coached her daughter in youth lacrosse, starting with HCLax in 2024 and moving to HoCo 2035 in 2025.

Kira graduated from Old Mill High School, where she played lacrosse for four years and competed with CCLax for club. She later attended Stevenson University, playing lacrosse for a few years while earning her degree in Business Communications with a minor in Marketing. She graduated in May of 2025 and works with an advertising company in Baltimore. She began helping coach the 2035s in 2024 and has been with HOCO helping with clinics and private lessons as well.

John previously coached girls recreational youth lacrosse with Western Maryland Youth lacrosse including time as an assistant coach for Mt. Airy, head coach for Urbana and head coach for LOUYAA. John is USA Lacrosse Level 1 and Level 2 certified and served on the board of the Western Maryland chapter of USA lacrosse as coaching education coordinator. John’s daughter Lilly played for Coach Adair at Glenelg Country School and currently plays lacrosse for the Oregon Ducks.

Ali grew up in Howard County and played lacrosse at River Hill High School, as well as for M&D Lacrosse Club. She went on to play club lacrosse at the University of Maryland while getting her degree in elementary education. She currently teaches 3rd grade for Howard County Public Schools and has coached her daughter’s HCLax team for multiple seasons. Ali lives in Woodbine with her husband and 2 children.

Courtney grew up in Howard County and graduated from Mount Hebron High School, where she was a multi-sport athlete in lacrosse and basketball. She earned All-County and All-Met honors on the lacrosse field, recognized by The Baltimore Sun and The Washington Post. Her playing career took her to James Madison University and then to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she competed as part of ACC Championship–winning teams and advanced to the Final Four.

Courtney has coached at multiple levels, including Mount Hebron High School (JV) and Archbishop Spalding (Varsity). She is currently entering her third season as an assistant coach for the Glenelg Country School Varsity Girls team, where she focuses on building confidence, strong habits, and intentional play. Courtney holds a Master of Arts in Teaching and is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. Courtney is currently pursuing certification as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and is passionate about supporting athletes’ physical, mental, and emotional development beyond the field. She lives locally with her husband and three children.

Liz grew up in Howard County and attended Mt. Hebron High School where she was a multi-sport athlete.

At Mt. Hebron, Liz was a standout defender for the Vikings and helped lead Mt. Hebron to the 2002 Maryland State Championship. She earned First Team All-County honors from The Washington Post as a junior and senior after anchoring one of the state's top defenses

Liz continued her career and took her talents to Penn State University, where she became a foundational four-year starter on the Nittany Lions' defensive backline, compiling over 65 career starts. Known for her high lacrosse IQ, lockdown capabilities, and exceptional ball-clearing skills, Liz led Penn State in caused turnovers en route to earning National Rookie of the week honors, All-ALC Conference honors and IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region accolades. She was a critical component of Penn State's 2005 squad that climbed into the national top ten and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Liz lives in Woodbine with her husband and three children, Anna (HoCo 2036), Ben and Vivienne.

Stephanie Tranter is an Ellicott City native and graduate of Mt. Hebron High School where she was a three sport athlete.

At Mt. Hebron High School, Stephanie was an All-American midfielder who played a key role on the nation’s top team, contributing to four consecutive Maryland state championships, three national high school titles and three undefeated seasons. A three-time First Team All-Howard County and two-time All-Metro selection, she was selected as Howard County player of the year as a junior.

She continued her lacrosse career at the University of North Carolina, where she became a four-year letterwinner, two-time Honorable Mention All-American, and 2005 team captain. Leading the team in points, she earned ACC All-Tournament Team honors in 2006 and helped guide the Tar Heels to four consecutive NCAA tournament appearances.

Stephanie has three girls, Kinley (HoCo 2034), Reese (HoCo 2036) and Charlie.

Sean Dougherty is a Howard County native who developed his passion for lacrosse through the Howard County Lacrosse Program (HCLP) and COBRA youth lacrosse. He went on to play at Centennial High School, where he was a three-time All-County attackman, team captain, and a member of the 2002 state championship team.

After high school, Sean attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy, where he enjoyed a distinguished collegiate career. A four-time All-Conference attackman, he set the Academy’s all-time records for points and scoring and earned All-American honors during his senior season. Sean helped lead the Mariners to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and was named Skyline Conference Player of the Year and Tournament MVP in 2007.

Sean’s accomplishments have earned him induction into both the Centennial High School Athletics Hall of Fame and the United States Merchant Marine Academy Athletics Hall of Fame.

In addition to his playing career, Sean has extensive experience in private instruction and youth coaching. He is committed to helping players develop their skills, embrace teamwork, and build a lifelong love for the game of lacrosse.

Sean resides in Howard County with his wife, Jennifer, and their three daughters, Ellie, Maddie, and Shay.

A native of the New York lacrosse hotbed of Somers, Reid Palmieri has spent his life dedicated to the sport. A former All-Section, All-League goalie and Team MVP for Somers High School, Reid attended Ithaca College, where he played Goalie and changed position to LSM and led the team as a senior captain. He currently plays in the Maryland Lacrosse League (MDLL Masters) on Blarney Lacrosse.

Now based in Howard County, Reid is deeply committed to developing the next generation of players. He balances a professional career at AWS with extensive coaching roles for both boys and girls within the HCLax and HOCO organizations. Reid also serves on the HCLax Board, helping shape the future of the sport he loves. For Reid, lacrosse is a family affair—he and his three children are all active members of the Howard County lacrosse community.
